The answer is Yes and No.
We accept your model and review it to get a better understanding of the design concept and materials. However, we use in the project file only if the model is done professionally. 80% of the models given by our client do not pass the quality check.
If your model quality is good and passes our quality check, giving a discount for the same in the overall project costing is subjective, as the decision lies with the artist working on your project. Typically they do give 10%-20%. A few artists say no to that.
Here is why!
All artists prefer to have complete control over their 3D project file, 3D models and materials assigned, so as to have the best realistic render quality, which is a Renderby promise. 3D elements and materials assigned play a predominant role is giving the best quality output. Many times when we import from an external 3d source, the control over the file is lost and the artist finds difficult to achieve the quality.
General Policy on 3D models from clients
If your Interior Design project falls in the Low & Medium Size category, the 3D model provided by you will be purely used for reference purposes only.
If your project is Large & Massive Size category, the artist may choose to use the overall framework of spaces from the 3D model provided by you if it passes the quality check.
All Exterior/Architectural projects, irrespective of size & complexity, only the framework or building elements are retained and used by the artists, from the input 3D model provided by you.
Other elements like landscape, pavers, exterior accessories etc,. are completely created from scratch by the artists to give the desired realistic finish and quality.
3D Model Quality check
Irrespective of project typology, our Creative Director will collect the 3D models from you and review the same in coordination with the Artists. Upon artists confirmation & approval, the discount percentage will be communicated to you. Under untoward circumstances, in case the artist spends more time editing the model given by you, which is more time consuming as compared to creating from scratch, it does not justify the time spent, hence giving a discount is not justified. Later, while the work is in progress, artist may demand more compensation to continue the project. To avoid such a scenario, our Creative Directors at Renderby go the extra mile and proactively assess each model before commencing your project. This ensures good control over timeline, quality and transparency.
